HOPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN, Romans 8:28, 35-39

  1. Suffering Is Universal (ROMANS 8:18-38)
  2. 18: I consider that our PRESENT sufferings are worth it…
  3. 20: Creation was SUBJECTED to frustration, not by its own choice
  4. 21: Creation WILL BE LIBERATED from its bondage to decay and brought into freedom and glory of the children of God …
  5. 22: THE WHOLE CREATION has been groaning…AS IN THE PAINS of childbirth…right up to the present time.
  6. 23: We…grown INWARDLY as we wait eagerly for our adoption and sonship…

Vs. 26: the spirit helps us In OUR weakness…

Vs. 26: but the spirit himself intercedes through Groans that WORDS CANNOT express…

Vs. 35: WHO can separate us from the love of Christ? trouble, HARDSHIP, persecution, FAMINE, warfare, NAKEDNESS, danger, SWORD

Vs. 36: We are considered AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED — “We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.” (Message)

  1. Suffering Can Draw You Closer To God IF WE ALLOW IT. (Romans 8:38-39, 17)

ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, no matter how great the suffering, none of it will ever separate us from the love of God (vs. 38-39).

In fact, not only will suffering NOT SEPARATE US from the love of God, but it can also, IF WE LET IT, CAN actually DRAW US CLOSER to the love of God!

IN OTHER WORDS, there’s ALWAYS HOPE at the bottom of the mountain—for those willing to search for it.
